About Island Writer

Island Writer is the literary magazine of the Victoria Writers’ Society. Published twice a year, it showcases the work of writers from Vancouver Island and the surrounding islands. The magazine celebrates the diverse voices and stories of our local writing community.

Island Writer features fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry by both emerging and established writers. Contributors are members of the Victoria Writers’ Society, and the magazine provides an opportunity to share their work with a wider audience.

Publication in Island Writer is a highlight of VWS membership and an important part of our mission to support and promote local writers.
