Ian Bott – Critique Survival Guide
Ian Bott is a local science fiction author and a member of the Writers Group at the Sidney/North Saanich library.
Much has been written about how to give good critiques, and how to run in-person critique groups, but very little is said from the writer’s perspective about how to withstand what can be a daunting and gruelling process.
Bott’s talk is aimed at giving writers the self-confidence and a range of practical tools to seek out, and stay sane through, the kind of blunt and detailed feedback we all need.
The talk will cover a lot of easy and practical techniques to help writers get the best out of the critiquing process.
