Young Adult Writing and Social Justice
Wednesday, February 03, 2021
7:00 – 8:30 via Zoom
Robin Stevenson is the author of 29 books for kids and teens. Some of her novels touch on activism, showing characters protesting the death penalty, for example, or fighting for environmental issues. Her non-fiction focusses on human rights issues– from LGBTQ+ rights to reproductive justice to the challenges facing refugees.
In this talk, Robin will discuss how her beliefs inform her writing, and how she uses her books to further her activism. She will also talk about other aspects of the writing and publishing process– from board books to teen novels, fiction to non-fiction, agents to editors, and anything else you can think of.
